Working Groups
Rebuilding Nature's working groups bring together experts, practitioners, policymakers, investors, infrastructure professionals, researchers and delivery partners to help turn ambition into action.
As we move beyond proof of concept and into testing, delivery and implementation, our working groups provide a practical space to share knowledge, challenge assumptions, develop solutions and shape the future of nature as critical infrastructure.
Whether you're interested in ecological connectivity, nature finance, communications, policy, investment, monitoring or place-based delivery, there are opportunities to contribute your expertise and help guide the next phase of Rebuilding Nature's evolution.
Together, we are working to build the systems, partnerships and evidence needed to create a resilient, connected network of natural infrastructure across the UK.
Enabling Workstreams
Strategic Nature Network (SNN)
This workstream is responsible for testing, refining and evolving the Strategic Nature Network. Through data improvement, stakeholder input, local validation and practical application, it will help develop the SNN into a trusted national framework for guiding nature recovery and measuring progress at scale.
Nature Investment Zone (NIZ)
A collaborative space for organisations involved in developing Nature Investment Zones to share experiences, challenges and lessons learned. This workstream helps test the NIZ blueprint in real-world settings and supports continuous improvement of the model as new opportunities emerge.
Nature Infrastructure Financing Framework (NIFF)
This workstream is developing the financial architecture needed to support nature recovery at scale. By aligning public funding, private investment and emerging nature markets, NIFF seeks to create a coherent, investable system capable of delivering long-term environmental, economic and social value.
Marcomms & Influence
Changing how society thinks about nature is essential to delivering systemic change. This workstream focuses on communications, engagement and influence activities that position nature as critical infrastructure, build public understanding, and encourage decision-makers to recognise resilience as a shared priority.
Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) 2027
Credible measurement is fundamental to building confidence and attracting investment. This workstream is exploring practical, scalable approaches to monitoring, reporting and verification that balance scientific rigour with usability, enabling consistent assessment of ecological outcomes and system-wide impact. This due to be convened in early 2027.
