SNN 1.0 Valuation Sprint Methodology

The modelling behind the Strategic Nature Network (SNN) starts to quantify the true scale of the UK’s natural infrastructure opportunity.

The methodology will continue to evolve but already demonstrates that true nature recovery is achievable if viewed as investment in single strategic national product.

The biodiversity and carbon values alone begin to demonstrate how we can close the UK’s £56 billion nature finance gap. Incorporating additional ecosystem service investment linked to water security, flood resilience, climate adaptation, health, food and timber, plus the secondary financing this collective investment can catalyse, starts to provide the multi-decadal financing needed to strengthen and maintain this national infrastructure once it is built.

Collectively investing in the SNN provides a credible pathway to help meet international commitments such as 30by30, while improving the resilience, security and prosperity of UK PLC.
