Bluebells in the British countryside at spring time

Rebuilding Nature: NIZ Engagement Online Workshop

Webinar recording: 30th March 2026

Nature Investment Zones are intended to support the transition from project‑by‑project delivery to connected, strategic, investable landscapes - aligning ecological need with credible finance pathways.

The session explored how we design, deliver and finance Nature Investment Zones as part of a more connected, scalable and investable approach to nature recovery across the UK. Participants contributed insight that will directly inform the Nature Investment Zone Blueprint - a practical guide to establishing NIZs and enabling landscape‑scale action.

In This Session, We Covered:

1. How to register your potential Nature Investment Zone and what qualifies as a NIZ

2. An introduction to the NIZ Blueprint, including early structure and design principles

3. Real‑world experience from practitioners, covering nature recovery, protection, and large‑scale land management

4. Key barriers and opportunities in moving from isolated projects toward connected, investable landscapes

5. What a coordinated national pipeline could look like across carbon, biodiversity and wider ecosystem services
